What's new in Flow Dusty
Every release, newest first. The Mac app updates itself; you can always get the latest from the download page.

Mac
- Flow Dusty now learns a word even when it mishears it differently each time. Correct it in two separate dictations and it's learned, with every misheard spelling remembered (so "mohaila" and "mojaha" both become "Mohela"). Words you've already corrected this way are learned on update.
- With Sync on, the Dictionary no longer says "Local only": it now says your words sync privately between your Mac and iPhone through your own iCloud. The iPhone Dictionary says the same.

- Fixed: if another app was slow to hand over something you'd copied (like an image), Flow Dusty could freeze for many seconds and the dictation never pasted. It now waits at most a moment, then pastes anyway. Your last dictation is also kept safely (encrypted, on this Mac) so ⌃⌥V can still paste it after a restart.

- Undid a word fix by accident? Words you once undid now show Trust again in the Dictionary: one tap turns their fixes back on (for example, your own name spelled your way). Correcting the same word in two separate dictations does the same thing automatically. Undo still works.
- Adding a word by hand? "What Flow Dusty keeps hearing" now takes several spellings separated by commas, for names that get misheard a different way each time.
iPhone
- With Sync on (Pro), words you teach Flow Dusty on your Mac now reach your iPhone in the background, without opening the app. The Flow Dusty keyboard picks them up too. No new permissions or notifications.
- Fixed: with AirPods or another Bluetooth headset just connected, the first dictation could record silence. The mic now resets when a headset arrives, not only when it leaves.
- Fixed: tapping Dictate on the keyboard while Flow Dusty was fully closed sometimes opened the app without starting to listen.

- New in Settings → Audio: choose your speech model. Parakeet stays the default; Qwen3-ASR is a larger on-device model that made fewer errors in our tests (a one-time 2.5 GB download; it leaves out filler sounds like "um"). If Qwen ever can't transcribe, Parakeet steps in so your words are never lost.
- ⌃⌥R is now a toggle: press it once to see exactly what you said, press it again to switch back to the formatted text.
- New, optional Grok cleanup (off by default): with your own xAI key, Flow Dusty polishes punctuation and removes "um"/"uh" a few seconds after your text lands, only if you haven't touched it. It never changes your actual words; ⌃⌥R brings back exactly what you said.
- New "What's new" button in Settings opens the full changelog on flowdusty.com.
- Onboarding now says: "Your voice is transcribed on this Mac and never leaves it."
- New optional setting, off by default: share usage counts with PostHog (a third-party analytics service) to help improve Flow Dusty. Never your words, audio, dictionary, or the apps you dictate into. Turn it on or off in Settings → Privacy.
- New optional setting, off by default: send crash reports to Sentry (a third-party service) if the dictation engine crashes, so we can fix it. Reports contain only where the crash happened and your app and macOS versions. Never your words, audio, or dictionary.
- "Keep recordings on this device" now keeps up to 10 GB by default (was 2 GB) before the oldest are removed.
Mac + iPhone
- Words you teach Flow Dusty now reach your iPhone on their own. The Mac syncs your dictionary automatically; no more "Sync now" button needed.
- Learned words work in every app, not just the one where you taught them.
- Close variants get fixed too: teach "grokbot" once and "grockbot" is corrected as well.
- Fixed a rare case where the dictionary could quietly switch itself off for a dictation.

- Pasting is reliable again on macOS 27: your clipboard is restored only after the app has actually pasted, so you no longer get your previous copy pasted by mistake.
- Insights: a calendar heatmap of your dictation, month bars split by Mac and iPhone with hover details, a "Fixes made by Flow" card, and all-time words across your devices.
- A new stippled "particle ridge" look on the Home and Insights headers.
- Adaptive learning is sturdier.
iPhone
- Media keeps playing in your AirPods while you dictate.
- A new first-run setup: dictate first, then a clear check that Flow Dusty is working.
- Keyboard: smarter capitalization and sentence endings.
- Insights match the Mac: device split, Fixes made by Flow, all-time words.
